Top Law Entrance Exams in India 2025

CLAT Exam
The consortium of NLUs conducts the law entrance exam for admission to 5-year integrated LLB course, and one-year LLM course offered by the 24 participating NLUs. The exam is conducted at a national level. In addition to the NLUs, the CLAT exam is also accepted by a number of private law schools for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The law entrance exam will be held in a pen-paper mode in around 80 test cities in India. CLAT 2024 application will open soon.

AILET Exam
The only law entrance exam in India conducted and accepted by the NLU Delhi. The UG and PG courses offered at NLU Delhi are BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. Candidates could apply for AILET in online mode.

SLAT or SET Law
The law entrance exam, SLAT is conducted by SIU Pune – Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to undergraduate courses offered at its four law schools in Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Nagpur and SLS Noida.

LSAT India
The law entrance exam, LSAT India is conducted by Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for admission to undergraduate as well as postgraduate law schools in India. Initially, Pearson VUE conducted LSAT India examination on behalf of LSAC. However, since 2020 LSAC has setup LSAC Global – Discover Law for conducting and managing LSAT India entrance exam. The LSAT India application process is provided at the official website – discoverlaw.in. Below are some crucial information about the exam:

MH CET Law Exam
The entrance exam is conducted for five-year integrated LLB as well as three-year LLB courses offered at the Maharashtra state universities and law colleges. The law entrance exam is conducted at a state level by the Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) Maharashtra. As per the exam pattern of MHCET Law, the exam is held in computer-based test mode for a duration of two hours. Know key features of MHCET Law as under:
