What is FTII JET?
The FTII JET is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually for candidates who want to be admitted to postgraduate and post-graduate diploma courses. A Joint Entrance Test (JET) is conducted by the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata to shortlist candidates for admission offered by the two institutes. There are two wings under FTII viz.
Film Wing: It offers courses such as direction & screenplay, writing, editing, acting, cinematography, feature film screenplay writing, sound designing and recording and art direction & production design
Television wing: It offers courses such as directions, electronic cinematography, sound recording & television engineering, and video editing.

FTII 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the following FTII Eligibility Criteria 2025:
3 Year Post Graduate Diploma Programme:
- Direction and Screenplay Writing, Cinematography, Sound Recording and Sound Design, Editing: Candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent.
- Art Direction & Production Design: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts, Architecture, Painting, Sculpture, Interior Design or related fields in Fine Arts or equivalent diploma from a recognized institute.
- Candidates appearing in their final year of bachelor’s degree or those who are awaiting for their result will be able to apply.
2 Year Post Graduate Diploma Programme:
- Screen Acting & Screenwriting: A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognised university or equivalent will be required to be eligible to apply.
- Candidates waiting for their graduation result will also be eligible to apply.
1 Year Post Graduate Certificate Programme:
- Sound Recording and TV Engineering, Video Editing, Electronic Cinematography, Editing: One must hold a bachelor’s degree in any relevant field from any recognised university to be eligible for admission.
- Candidates expecting their result of qualifying examination to be declared in the year of admission will also be eligible to apply.

FTII 2025 Exam Pattern
Below we have mentioned the FTII Exam Pattern 2025:
- Mode of Exam: Exam will be held via offline (PBT) mode.
- Duration of Exam: A total of 3 hours will be given to solve paper.
- Type of Question: Candidates will be asked Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) & Descriptive Type Questions.
- Total Questions: The question paper will consist of 30 MCQs and 7 Descriptive Type Questions.
- Total Marks: The question paper will carry a total of 100 marks.
- Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, 1 mark will be added.
- Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks (i.e 25%) for each incorrect answer.

How to Apply for FTII 2025
Follow the given steps to apply for FTII 2025:
Step-1: Visit the website.
Step-2: Search for FTII Fee Account tab and click on it.
Step-3: Then, click on “FTII Examination-TV Wings 2025 Batch”.
Step-4: Fill all the asked details like name, date of birth, email ID, Mobile number and select the course you wish to apply.
Step-5: Submit the online application fee through SB portal.
Step-6: Now, fill the application form with details like personal, qualification and others.
Step-7: Upload all the required documents like photograph and signature in prescribed form.
Step-8: At last, preview and submit the application form and also take a printout of it for future usage.
