The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an Intermediate exam which the Consortium of National Law Universities conducts. The CLAT Exam is conducted in December every year.

Students who want to pursue a career in Law after class 12th can write this exam. CLAT’s score is a gateway to various top NLUs (National Law University) and various other Law colleges.

Currently, 24 NLUs are participating in CLAT Exam to provide admission to LLB and LLM programs. Recently, NLU Tripura has also joined the ranks of these esteemed National Law Universities.

The domicile reservation policies of the NLUs specify the number of seats reserved for candidates who belong to the same state in which the particular NLU is situated. Before selecting colleges in the counseling process, candidates must check out the domicile reservation of each NLU and accordingly choose NLUs.

There are around 780 seats available in 5-year LLB courses in the top 5 National Law Universities (NLUs).

As per the official notification of the consortium of NLUs, there is no upper age limit set for the CLAT PG exam. Additionally, the minimum age required to appear for the exam is 20 years.
